Former club house is now a hotel
What we now can Augustinenhof on a 100 - year-old
history as a hostel look back.
From Ev. Association for social purposes purchased the house already offered in the 70's and 80's of the 19th Century for immigrant journeymen and industrial workers who flocked to Berlin, a "safe haven".
From October 1898 the house was already transformed into a simple tourist hotel.
After the 2nd World War was transformed into the home to a male-female and female students hostel. Some were still used as a hotel.
In 1979 the site of the League of Ev. Church in the GDR took over, and it was continued as Christian Hospice, before it was passed in 1994 to the Berlin City Mission.
After an 8 year old, heritage-just rehabilitation of the house, the Augustinenhof in October 2001 but opened again for visitors to the city's doors.
